California’s Central Coast is getting ready for the 2016 Amgen Tour. Residents of Morro Bay, named one of America’s Best Small Beach Towns by Thrillist Travel, enjoy scenic views and year round temperate weather perfect for enjoying a variety of outdoor activities, including kayaking, hiking, and bicycling. Morro Bay is designated as one of only 325 American cities as a Bicycle Friendly Community by The League of American Bicyclists which makes it the perfect place for bicycle enthusiast to buy a home, but also a great backdrop for The Amgen Tour.

Morro Bay is one of the host cities for the 2016 Amgen Tour and with exceptional scenic views, including the spectacular Morro Rock, sandy beaches, and a walkable downtown area with wonderful restaurants overlooking the water and unique shops, cyclists and onlookers will enjoy themselves.

The Amgen Tour draws athletes from every level, including Olympic Medalists, Tour de France contenders and world champion bicyclists. The tour is broken down into several legs and Morro Bay will be the host city for Stage 4 of the Men’s Competition, where cyclists will ride up along California’s scenic coast past Cayucos and Cambria and Hearst Castle on their way to Monterrey. Then, Stage 5 will take competitors from Lodi to South Lake Tahoe.

One of the reasons that homebuyers chose to live in Morro Bay is that the city is bicycle friendly and there are many bike paths and trails where families can bicycle with their children. There are numerous bike trails that are more challenging, too, and offer the competitive bicyclist a great workout. In addition to bicycling, Morro Bay offers a wealth of activities for the outdoor enthusiast. If you’re looking to buy a home along California’s Central Coast where you can enjoy an active outdoor lifestyle, buying a property in Morro Bay could give you the lifestyle you’ve always wanted to live. Working with a Realtor® who knows the area and can negotiate in your best interests can make all the difference in the world. Set up your Morro Bay Property Search today and get ready to hit the bike trails.
