CaImage titlelifornia’s Central Coast is at the top of the list for people who are looking to move to an area where there are plenty of outdoor activities to keep the family fit and healthy year-round—including during the Thanksgiving holiday. San Luis Obispo County has some of the best hiking trails on the Central Coast and with Santa Barbara to the south and Monterrey to the north, there are plenty of outdoor venues to enjoy, not to mention the spectacular scenery.

If you’re looking for a great way to get in a little exercise between turkey, football, and pumpkin pie, there’s plenty to choose from, including these 2local favorites:

Gobble Wobble 5K Fun Run:

Lace up your sneakers and get ready to work up an appetite all for the benefit of the SLO Food Bank. This is a fun run for the whole family, so it’s perfect for a little friendly competition among siblings. Donate a non-perishable food item on race day for a free child entry. Race takes place at Laguna Lake Golf Club on Thanksgiving morning.

South County Turkey Trot at the Beach:

Take in beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean and enjoy the sea breeze while cranking up your heart rate and giving your legs a good stretch. The South County Turkey Trot is sponsored by the 5 Cities Rotary Club and is held on Thanksgiving morning.
